Bo was absolutely wonderful in discussing everything with us for our tankless water heater. The crew that worked to take out of tank water heater, and install the tankless was heater were great as well. We couldn't have asked for a better experience with Hats Off Heating and Air Conditioning. We actually hired them to be our AC/Heat guys for all tuneups in the future even though we did like our previous company, Hats Off was just so personable, and it's nice to have the same company for everything. Thank you Bo, and Team for a great job, and a seamless experience.

I called Hats Off because they had great reviews and are family-owned. I had a clogged drain line from heat pump that needed to be resolved because the water pan overflowed and leaked through my ceiling. The technician, Evan, was very kind and walked me through everything he was doing including taking before/after pictures. He recognized the issue, cleaned out the line, and also recommended a safety switch to prevent the heat pump from continuing to run if the line gets clogged again. He was able to install the switch during the same visit. I appreciate their integrity and transformation. I was not left guessing about what was going on or what I was paying for. Thank you to Evan and Hats Off.

What Generations of Shawboro Homes Reveal About Plumbing Wear

Many Shawboro properties have been in the same family for multiple generations, and the plumbing inside those homes often reflects that history, with original galvanized pipe still present in sections that haven’t needed attention until now. That kind of aging infrastructure tends to fail gradually rather than all at once, which means early signs are easy to dismiss.

Agricultural use of water on many Shawboro properties, from livestock to irrigation, also puts additional demand on well systems that residential only properties elsewhere don’t experience.

Watch for these signs that a Shawboro home may need plumbing repair:

  • Gradually declining water pressure
  • Rust colored water after periods of disuse
  • Well pump working harder than usual
  • Leaks appearing at old pipe joints
  • Slow drains in older bathrooms
  • Fixtures that no longer shut off fully

Because many of these homes have plumbing that’s been patched together over decades, we look at the full system rather than just the immediate complaint.

Water Heater Repair for Shawboro's Long Standing Homes

Older Shawboro homes often have water heaters that have been replaced once or twice over the life of the property, sometimes installed in spaces that were never updated to match current appliance sizes. Well water mineral content adds to the wear, causing sediment to build up inside tanks faster than treated municipal water would.

Our technicians check the full picture before recommending water heater repair, including tank condition, heating element performance, and whether the existing installation space still makes sense for the household’s needs.

If replacement is the better path, we account for the property’s specific water quality and space constraints, and back the work with a two year labor warranty.

Full Service Plumbing for Shawboro's Family Properties

With septic systems serving virtually every Shawboro property, drain cleaning has to be handled with an eye toward what the septic tank and drain field can safely absorb. Older homes with original clay or cast iron drain lines also see more root intrusion and scale buildup than newer PVC systems.

Our full service plumbing addresses what Shawboro properties actually need:

  • Septic safe drain cleaning
  • Well pump and pressure tank repair
  • Repiping for older sections
  • Fixture installation and repair
  • Agricultural water line service
  • Leak detection

We bring the right expertise for aging rural systems, treating each property according to its actual history rather than a generic checklist.

Inside a Typical Service Visit in Shawboro

Roger, a homeowner on a multi generation family property in Shawboro, called us about a bathroom faucet that wouldn’t fully shut off no matter how tightly he turned the handle. The fixture was original to the house, installed decades earlier.

Our technician found the internal washer and seat had worn down completely, a common outcome for fixtures that have been in continuous use for that many years. Rather than a quick washer swap, the valve body itself had degraded enough that a full fixture replacement made more sense.

We replaced the faucet with a modern fixture built to hold up to ongoing use, and Roger mentioned it was the first plumbing update that part of the house had seen in longer than he could remember.

Yes. Livestock or irrigation use on a property can put additional demand on a well system, which may affect pressure and pump performance for the household plumbing as well.

This is usually caused by a worn washer or valve seat inside the fixture. In older faucets, the entire valve body may have degraded enough that replacement is more practical than a small part swap.
