Bo was absolutely wonderful in discussing everything with us for our tankless water heater. The crew that worked to take out of tank water heater, and install the tankless was heater were great as well. We couldn't have asked for a better experience with Hats Off Heating and Air Conditioning. We actually hired them to be our AC/Heat guys for all tuneups in the future even though we did like our previous company, Hats Off was just so personable, and it's nice to have the same company for everything. Thank you Bo, and Team for a great job, and a seamless experience.Posted on GoogleMargaret GTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.

I called Hats Off because they had great reviews and are family-owned. I had a clogged drain line from heat pump that needed to be resolved because the water pan overflowed and leaked through my ceiling. The technician, Evan, was very kind and walked me through everything he was doing including taking before/after pictures. He recognized the issue, cleaned out the line, and also recommended a safety switch to prevent the heat pump from continuing to run if the line gets clogged again. He was able to install the switch during the same visit. I appreciate their integrity and transformation. I was not left guessing about what was going on or what I was paying for. Thank you to Evan and Hats Off.Posted on GoogleJaclyn MTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
Very professional and thorough. They take pictures and share them and provide all the details of the inspection done on the unit. Great company!!
Hampton’s postwar neighborhoods, many built in the 1950s and 1960s, still carry original galvanized supply lines in a surprising number of homes. Galvanized pipe corrodes from the inside out, which means a pipe can look fine on the outside while its interior narrows with rust until pressure drops and leaks develop at the weakest joints.
The city’s low elevation near the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay also means groundwater sits close to the surface throughout Hampton, which puts extra strain on drain lines and increases the odds of root intrusion in sewer laterals running through older yards.
Here are common signs that call for plumbing repair in Hampton:
Homes with original 1950s and 1960s plumbing are especially prone to these issues, so a professional inspection can catch problems before they become emergencies.
Many Hampton homes still rely on water heaters tucked into small closets or garages that were never designed with modern tank sizes in mind. Combine that with hard water common throughout the Hampton Roads region, and sediment buildup becomes a bigger issue here than in areas with softer water supplies.
When a water heater starts underperforming, our technicians look at more than just the unit itself. We check the anode rod, inspect for sediment accumulation, and test the thermostat before recommending anything more than water heater repair.
If your unit does need replacement, we’ll help you choose a size and configuration that fits your household and your space, and we stand behind every installation with a two year labor warranty.
Hampton’s older sewer infrastructure, particularly in neighborhoods developed before modern PVC piping became standard, tends to accumulate grease and debris more readily than newer systems. Add in mature trees that line many residential streets, and drain cleaning becomes one of the most requested services we provide across the city.
Beyond drain cleaning, our full service plumbing covers the needs of Hampton homeowners at every stage:
Our technicians carry the equipment needed to handle most of these jobs in a single visit, saving you the hassle of scheduling multiple appointments.
Last summer, we heard from Patricia, a homeowner near Buckroe Beach who noticed her kitchen sink was draining slower each week until it stopped completely one Saturday morning. She’d tried a store bought drain solution with no luck.
Our technician ran a camera down the line and found a section of old cast iron pipe that had corroded enough to create a shelf inside the pipe, catching grease and food particles every time the sink was used. It was a common failure point for homes of that era in the neighborhood.
Rather than a temporary clear out, we recommended replacing the short section of failing pipe so the problem wouldn’t return within weeks. Patricia appreciated that we explained the tradeoff between a quick fix and a lasting one, and she chose the permanent repair. Her sink has drained normally ever since.
Hampton homeowners have a lot of choices when a plumbing problem comes up. Here’s what sets us apart:
We’ve built our reputation in Hampton one honest repair at a time, and we intend to keep it that way.
Yes. We offer emergency plumbing service for situations like burst pipes, major leaks, and sewer backups. Call any time and we’ll dispatch a technician as quickly as possible.
Low water pressure is often caused by mineral buildup inside older pipes or a partial blockage somewhere in the line. A plumber can pinpoint the cause and recommend the right fix.
Most homes benefit from a professional drain cleaning every one to two years, though homes with mature trees nearby or older sewer lines may need it more often.
Popping or rumbling sounds usually mean sediment has built up at the bottom of the tank. It’s worth having a technician flush the tank or inspect the unit before the noise gets worse.
Yes. We regularly service homes with original plumbing from the 1950s and 1960s. Our technicians can assess the condition of existing pipes and recommend repairs or upgrades as needed.
